What We Believe

1. We believe in the Bible, both Old and New Testaments to be the Word of God, every word inspired and inerrant in the original manuscripts and the final Divine authority of our faith in practice. (2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:6-17)

2. We believe in one God, creator of all things, one in purpose and nature, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (John 17:3, Revelation 4:11, Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in His incarnation, born of a virgin and was sinless in His life. We believe that He died on the cross for the sins of the world and that all who trust in Him are declared righteous in the sight of God. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High He now is our High Priest and Advocate. We believe in His visible, physical return to earth according to His promise. (Luke 1:35, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, John 1:1, Hebrews 1:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Matthew 1:18, Hebrews 1:3, Hebrews 9:24)

4. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 14:26, John 14:17, John 16:7-11, John 3:5-8, Romans 8:9)

5. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. That all men by nature and by choice are sinners and apart from Jesus Christ will be forever separated from God. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:26, Romans 5:12, Titus 3:3-7, Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 3:10-23, Romans 6:23)

6. We believe that man is saved by faith and faith alone in the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that no man can be saved from his sins by works or ritual. We believe that true faith, however, will always result in repentance, in a changed life and in good works pleasing to God. (Ephesians 2:8-10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 2:11-14)

7. We believe that the devil is a personal being and the declared enemy of God and man. (Job 1:6-7, I Peter 5:8-9)

8. We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that the local church is an assembly of believers in Jesus Christ associated to exalt the Lord, evangelize the world and edify the saints. We believe that the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper have been committed to the local church for perpetual observance. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 1 Corinthians 11:23-30, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42, Acts 8:36-39, Acts 16:31-33, Acts 22:16)

9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to eternal preservation and everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to eternal punishment. (1 Corinthians 15, John 5:28-29, Matthew 25:46, Revelation 20:6, Revelation 20:11-15, Revelation 21:1-22:5)

10. We believe in the Biblical witness regarding the sacredness of marriage: The term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God, which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated by Scripture. (Gen 2:21-25; Eph 5:22-33; Col 3:18-19; I Cor 7:1-3, Matt 19:3-6)
